Hi
First thanks for your very good job.
I hit regularly an anoying issue when using VcXsrv with a linux virtual box virtual machine running as a guest for Win10. VcXsrv is used through ssh and either a briged interface or a private host interface.
Some time when selecting characters in emacs through the right arrow keystroke (forward), the server enters a loop and select repeatidly all chars available. Most of the time it ends when no more chars are available (not sure when/how it ends). I had in one or two occasions a crash of the X server. In these cases, the repeated keystrokes seems not to end at the end of the edited file.
If I'm able to reproduce it with another X application than emacs I will enrich the ticket.
I will also try using a direct connection without ssh (when guest VM is running locally)
Added log files for X server
According to log files it seems the problem could be linked to clipboard...
"winClipboardFlushXEvents - OpenClipboard () failed: 00000005"
The VCXSrv.0.log contains messages captured in a session that crashed.
The VCXSrv.0.log.old contains messages captured in a session that didn't crashed.
Hope it'll help ...
I launched VcXsrv through local connection (no SSH).
The issue continue to occur, this time in pycharm (java application), a JetBrain python IDE.
When the issue occur, the unchecking of the 'Clipboard may use PRIMARY selection' stop repeated keystrokes. Hence it seems it is actually a clipboard issue.
Attached the log for this issue (not sure this is the good log file ... display is not the correct one)
